Simple Changes Make a Huge Difference


As we approach Christmas and head into the New Year I know a lot of people would like to make the New Year a healthy one.

Just by making simple dietary changes is a great starting point to a healthier year.

Breakfast

Who starts their day with a bowl of cereal and a glass a juice? Or maybe you may not even eat anything for breakfast.

Did you know that most breakfast cereals are loaded up with sugar? If you start your day with breakfast cereal followed by a glass of juice daily. You are starting you day with lots of unneccasry sugar.

By simply changing your breakfast to two eggs and an a half an avocado, with some tomatoes and drinking a glass of water. You are cutting out all your morning sugar.

If you had to get up in the morning and open up a bag of sugar and eat it. I am sure you would think that would be disgusting. However, when it is hidden in food no one really realises the ill effects it is having on your health.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Skipping breakfast is like trying to run your car without any petrol. You will not get very far. Food is fuel for your body. Start your day right. Simply changing your breakfast routine to whole foods will improve your mood. Increase your energy levels and it will make you crave less bad foods throughout the day. It will keep you full for much longer.

Below is a photo of what my breakfast and my children's breakfast looks like daily. My husband is up at 4am so his breakfast is a Paleo mix. His breakfast bowl is loaded with a variety of seeds (pumpkin, sunflower..) and nuts (bBrazil cashews, almonds....) He has this with coconut milk.

Dinner

Instead of buying a packet of chips to put in the oven for veggies for dinner. Cut some sweet potatoes up and bake in the oven. Make a big salad and serve up with some great quality grass feed beef or local caught fish.

Next time you are in the super markets just take a moment to read the back of the packet of your oven chips. In fact, start reading labels on all the packet foods you buy. Hot chips are loaded up with lots of ingredients and coated in gluten to make them crispy. It may take longer in the kitchen to peel and bake your own. However your body will thank you for it.

Drink

Drink filtered water instead of your soft drink, cordial or wine at dinner. Your body will love you for it.

These are just some simple ways of making a huge change for a healthier body.
